A DirectX-Based DICOM Viewer for Multi-user Surgical Planning in Augmented Reality

چکیده
Preoperative medical imaging is an essential part of surgical planning. The data from devices, such as CT and MRI scanners, consist stacks 2D images in DICOM format. Conversely, advances 3D visualization provide further information by assembling cross-sections into volumetric datasets. As Microsoft unveiled the HoloLens 2 (HL2), which considered one best Mixed Reality (XR) headsets market, it promised to enhance providing immersive experience users. This paper introduces a prototype holographic XR Viewer for image sets on HL2 We first developed standalone graphical C++ engine using native DirectX11 API HLSL shaders. Based that, applies OpenXR potential deployment wide range devices vendors across spectrum. With access device, our unravels limitation hardware capabilities volume rendering interaction. Moreover, smartphones can act input another user interaction method connecting server. In this paper, we present viewer contribute (i) that renders real-time HL2, (ii) three types interactions XR, (iii) preliminary qualitative evaluation prototype.

Tracking in a Multi-user Augmented Reality System
We present a tracking system integrating both optical and magnetic tracking which runs on low-cost hardware. This tracking system is part of the “Studierstube”, a new multi-user augmented reality system. On the one hand, two independently running tracking systems are integrated to complement each other, on the other hand by using only parts of two independent tracking systems we can obtain a un...

Minimally invasive therapy (MIT) is one of the most important trends in modern medicine. It includes a wide range of therapies in videoscopic surgery and interventional radiology and is performed through small incisions. It reduces hospital stay-time by allowing faster recovery and offers substantially improved cost-effectiveness for the hospital and the society. However, the introduction of MI...

This thesis presents a new 3-dimensional (3D) user interface system for a Cave Automated Virtual Environment (CAVE) application, based on Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Tangible User Interface (TUI). We explore fundamental 3D interaction tasks with our user interface for the CAVE system. User interface (UI) is comprised of a specific set of components, including input/output ...
متن کاملTowards Massively Multi-user Augmented Reality on Handheld Devices
Augmented Reality (AR) can naturally complement mobile computing on wearable devices by providing an intuitive interface to a three-dimensional information space embedded within physical reality. Unfortunately, current wearable AR systems are relatively complex, expensive, fragile and heavy, rendering them unfit for large-scale deployment involving untrained users outside constrained laboratory...
متن کاملAugmented reality based user interface for mobile applications and services
Traditional design of user interfaces for mobile phones is limited to a small interaction that provides only the necessary means to place phone calls or to write short messages. Such narrow activities supported via current terminals suppress users from moving towards mobile and ubiquitous computing environments of the future. Unfortunately, the next generation of user interfaces for mobile term...
